Biography of Ween

Since 1990, Ween have been making records that consume pop culture whole and smirkingly spit it back out. The duo of Dean and Gene Ween (born Mickey Melchiondo And Aaron Freeman) make records that read like parodies but sound like pop albums. Essentially, they are two spoiled, over-educated suburban college kids, screwing around with a four-track cassette recorder in their parents' basement; they sing in funny voices, speed up the tape, make noises with their instruments, slow down the tape, and write some incredibly enjoyable, subversive pop songs.
