Biography of Thelma Houston

Houston was a protégé of composer Jimmy Webb in the late '60s. Despite a fairly consistent recording output, Houston's distinctively vigorous pipes have rarely appealed to the masses. Her biggest hit was the gold disco single "Don't Leave Me this Way" from her 1977 Any Way You Want It album on the Gordy label. ~ Bil Carpenter
