Biography of The Du Droppers
A New York City group, the Du Droppers made good time records that weren't classics, but were enjoyable and entertaining. Caleb "J.C." Ginyard, Jr., Willie and Harvey Ray, and Bob Kornegay formed the group in 1952. The next year they had two big hits, "I Wanna Know" and "I Found Out (What You Do When You Go Round There)," both of which reached number three on the R&B charts for the Victor label. These were their only significant releases; they disbanded after Ginyard left to join the Golden Gate Quartet in 1955. ~ Ron Wynn
