Biography of Tanya Tucker

In 1972 thirteen-year-old Tanya Tucker had a hit with "Delta Dawn"; more than twenty years later this woman with the husky voice is a veteran of country, rock, and all that lies in between. With over thirty Top Ten hits and a few movie roles (Jeremiah Johnson and Hard Country), she sings with conviction and great experience. From the start, a renegade/bad-girl label was pinned on her, reinforced by her controversial material -- "Would You Lay with Me (In a Field of Stone)" is an example -- and her brush with rock music.
