Biography of Susannah McCorkle
A vocalist who's become a staple on the jazz circuit since the mid 70s, McCorkle worked in Paris and then England, where she made a name for herself by playing with such visiting American jazz musicians as Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, and Bobby Hackett. McCorkle possesses one of the clearest and sharpest voices among contemporary jazz singers and has gotten rave reviews for performances at Ronnie Scott's in England, and the Riverboat jazz room in Manhattan, She's also an accomplished writer, having published several short stories and been a staff contributor to The New Yorker. ~ Ron Wynn
