Biography of Styx

This Chicago-based band was composed of Dennis DeYoung (keyboards), Tommy Shaw (lead guitar), James Young (guitar), John Panozzo (drums), and Chuck Panozzo (bass). Their mainstream rock sound flirted with art-rock at times. Between 1974 and 1984, they scored hits with sentimental ballads like "Babe" and "The Best of Times," as well as pop-rockers, "Too Much Time on My Hands" and "Mr. Roboto." ~ Bil Carpenter
