Biography of Ralph Stanley
After brother Carter died in 1966, Ralph Stanley was quick in hiring talented Larry Sparks (to handle Carter's leads) and fiddler Curly Ray Cline. In the years since, The Clinch Mountain Boys have undergone numerous changes in band personnel, but Stanley has kept his standards high, over the years hiring Ricky Skaggs, Keith Whitley, Roy Lee Centers, Jack Cooke, and others. As of this writing, the band is still much in demand, with a full schedule year-round. ~ David Vinopal
