Biography of Paulina Rubio

Paulina Rubio was born on June 17, 1971 in Mexico City. Her artistic debut came in 1982 with Timbiriche, a very popular kids act. In 1988 she got a role in the latin soap apera Pasión y Poder (passion and power). Two years later Paulina Rubio was playing a main role in other tv series called Baila Conmigo (dance with me). Talented and wishing to go on her own Paulina Rubio decided to leave Timbiriche after 10 years and 11 records made. 1992's La Chica Dorada was her debut album followed by 1993's 24 Kilates. In 1994 Paulina Rubio reached the big screen getting a role in the movie Bésame en la Boca (kiss me on my mouth) and in 1995 in a new soap opera called Pobre Niña Rica (poor rich girl). The same year Tiempo es Oro was released. By that time the artist was getting a growing number of followers in Latinamerica, being acclaimed in Mexico, Spain and Chile. In 1996 Planeta Paulina is released followed by 2000's Paulina. ~ Drago Bonacich
