Biography of Of Montreal

Featuring ex-members of the Elephant 6 Collective, the ironically titled Of Montreal actually live no where near Canada, but rather, way south in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. Lyrically compelling tales of love lost comprise their musical package of short pop bursts and slow ballads -ala Pet Sounds era Beach Boys/ Revolver era Beatles is featured on their first album The Bedside Drama: a Petite Tragedy in 1998. Released by Kindercore Records, the New York based label followed with the rerelease of the EP The Bird Who Continues to Eat The Rabbit's Flower in 1999 along with The Gay Parade that same year. ~ Mike DaRonco
