Biography of Marea

A heavy metal band from Spain, Marea was formed in 1997 by ex-Berriozar and Kintal singer Kutxi Romero, drummer Alen Ayerdi, guitarists Cesar Ramallo and David Diaz (aka Kolibri), and bassist Edu Beaumont (aka El Pinas). After recording a self-titled demo, the band signed with BMG-RCA on May 22, 1999, releasing their debut album, La Patera, that same year. They soon were participating in a compilation called Aurtengo Gorakada 4 with the song "Si Viene la Pestani." After issuing Revolcon, the band successfully performed on May 5, 2001, at the Vina Rock Festival. ~ Drago Bonacich
