Biography of Ludacris
Ludacris is an Atlanta, GA, based rapper and the first artist to be signed to the spin-off label Def Jam Recordings, South. He caught the attention of the label's president, Scarface, when his single "What's Your Fantasy" went to number one on a local radio station's chart. The single appeared on Ludacris's May 2000 debut album, Incognegro. The follow-up album, Ludacris: Back for the First Time, followed in October on Def Jam South. Though he had always been interested in acting, his silver screen career took a huge leap forward in 2005 after his roles in the critically-acclaimed Hustle & Flow and Crash, the latter which won best picture. The next year, however, Ludacris returned to music with a new haircut and a more mature, or at least less funny, outlook on life on Release Therapy. ~ Diana Potts
