Biography of Live

With their muscular R.E.M. and U2 hybrid, Live straddles the line between alternative rock credibility and mainstream radio accessibility. When their first album was released, it was a moderate commercial success, made all the more impressive considering the reluctance of radio to alternative-oriented music. Throwing Copper, their second album, shot to the top of college charts when it was released in the spring of 1994, as well as receiving a substantial amount of mainstream sales and play on pop radio.
