Biography of Jackie Moore

This Jacksonville vocalist has had some tremendous songs over the years, doing piercing confessionals, wailing ballads, and uptempo burners. She earned her first hit in 1970 for Atlantic with "Precious, Precious," which is still arguably her best record. Her biggest R&B hit was "Make Me Feel like a Woman" in 1975, which reached number six. But Moore has made consistently good material for Atlantic, Kayvette, Columbia, and Catawba, including songs that should have been bigger hits, like "Make Me Yours" and "This Time Baby." She recorded for Sunnyview in 1985. ~ Ron Wynn
