Biography of Hank Williams III
As the grandson of Hank Williams and the son of Hank Jr., singer/songwriter Hank Williams III was country music royalty before he ever sang a note. Born December 12, 1972 in Nashville, after his parents divorced he lived in Atlanta with his mother; at age ten, Hank III made the first of many concert appearances drumming in support of his father, and as a teen went on to play in a series of punk bands as well. In 1996, he signed to Curb and released the Three Hanks: Men with Broken Hearts, which brought the voices of all three generations of Williams men together via the ghastly miracles of modern technology; Hank III's proper solo debut, A Risin' Outlaw, was recorded in early 1997 but remained unreleased for over two years. ~ Jason Ankeny
