Biography of Grace Jones

Entertainer and model Grace Jones has a European flair but a hard, stilted singing style. Jones is on the cutting edge of reggae-style dance music, although commercial success evades her. Jones renewed her career in the '90s, though she's done more acting than singing since releasing Bulletproof Heart in 1989 for Capitol. She had a featured role in the Eddie Murphy film Boomerang in 1992; Private Life: The Compass Point Sessions, a retrospective of her work for Island, followed in 1998. ~ Bil Carpenter
