Biography of Delerium
One in a multitude of mostly indistinguishable aliases used by Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber (alongside Frontline Assembly, Intermix, Synaesthesia and Noise Unit) before their breakup in 1996, Delerium was probably the most prolific -- though Frontline Assembly was undoubtedly the most well-known. From 1987 to 1997, Delerium recorded over ten albums, mostly for Nettwerk and Dossier. The music encompassed ambient-pop with tribal elements as well, and featured many guest vocalists, including past label-mate Sarah McLachlan, Jacqui Hunt (from Single Gun Theory), Kristy Thirsk (Rose Chronicles) and Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance). The nineties saw Delerium achieve critical success in the States with the Sarah McLachlan collaborative track "Silence." Poem was issued in fall 2000. ~ John Bush
