Biography of Dashboard Confessional
Under the name Dashboard Confessional, vocalist/guitarist Chris Carrabba melds emo-style punk with acoustic singer/songwriter intimacy. Based in Boca Raton, FL, Carrabba previously belonged to the emo bands the Vacant Andies and Furtherseemsforever (the latter of which released a single on Tooth & Nail). Carrabba also sang backing vocals on New Found Glory's 1999 album Nothing Gold Can Stay and wound up getting signed to the same label, the MCA affiliate Drive-Thru. The debut Dashboard Confessional album, The Swiss Army Romance, was released in late 2000. ~ Steve Huey
