Biography of Charlie Daniels

Before there was "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," there was life for Charlie Daniels in bluegrass and as a session player in Nashville (he played on Bob Dylan's Nashville Skyline album). In fact, before his 1979 #1 hit, he had success in 1975 with "The South's Gonna Do It." The Charlie Daniels Band has built a strong bridge between rock and pure country, playing both with authority. His image symbolizes the good ol' boy who loves his music and his country. His annual Volunteer Jam brings together great musicians from country, rock, jazz, and blues, and has returned to Nashville. ~ David Vinopal
