Biography of CJ Bolland

Born in England in 1971 but transplanted to Belgium with his family when he was three, CJ Bolland received an early education in dance music; his parents ran a club in Antwerp, and his mother DJed there. In 1988, when no one else would sign him, R&S gave him a chance, eventually developing him into one of their most successful artists. His first single, "Do That Dance" as the Project, appeared two years later. Debut album The Fourth Sign was released on the R&S offshoot, Apollo. Although he records most often as himself, Bolland has also appeared as Pulse, Ravesignal, the Project, Cee-Jay and Space Opera. ~ John Bush
