Biography of Brian Eno
Brian Eno may not be a household name, but his influence has been felt on a number of rock's most unique records, some highly successful. Brian Peter George St. John de Baptiste de la Salle Eno first made his appearance as a founding member of British art-pop rockers Roxy Music in 1971. Eno, who fancied himself a manipulator of "treated" sound rather than a formally titled musician, provided Roxy with sweeping tonal washes, peculiar noises, and bleeps and blips on electronic keyboards and tapes. After leaving Roxy Music, Eno pursued a fascinating career as a solo artist and producer. For the person interested in experimental music, Eno's instrumental ambient series, as well as his earlier vocal albums, are well worth seeking out.Talking Heads (More Songs About Buildings and Food, Fear of Music, Remain in Light), David Bowie (Low, Heroes, Lodger), U2 (The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, Zooropa), Ultravox (Ultravox!) and Devo (Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!) are some of the artists Eno has produced. ~ John Floyd
