Biography of Brenda Holloway
Motown's first non-Detroit act, she was known for her stage versatility which included a violin solo. She had moderate success with Motown in the '60s and is now a gospel singer. Brenda Holloway kept recording in the late '80s, making a duet single with Jimmy Ruffin for the British Nightmare label entitled "On the Rebound." She sang background vocals for songs by Barry White, Joe Cocker, and Leon Ware, and in 1991 recorded the LP You Gave Me Love for another British label, Motorcity. ~ Rick A. Bueche and Ron Wynn
