Biography of Barenaked Ladies
Barenaked Ladies is a pop quintet from Toronto founded by Ed Robertson (guitar, vocals) and Steven Page (guitar, vocals) in 1988. Completing the band are Tyler Stewart (drums) and brothers Jim (bass) and Andrew Creeggan (keyboards). They released a successful independent EP, Be My Yoko Ono, in 1990 and their debut album, Gordon, was a substantial hit in Canada in 1992. Their second album, Maybe You Should Drive, was released in 1994; Born on a Pirate Ship followed two years later, promoted by the group's appearance on the popular drama Beverly Hills 90210. Barenaked Ladies resurfaced in 1998 with Stunt, also co-headlining that year's H.O.R.D.E. tour. 2000 saw the release of Maroon, which was produced by Don Was. ~ William Ruhlmann
