Biography of Barbara Lewis

A R&B singer and multi-instrumentalist/songwriter whose first recordings were made in Chicago in 1961, Barbara Lewis gained fame in the mid '60s on Atlantic Records with the self-penned "Hello Stanger" (later covered by Yvonne Elliman). Other hits included "Baby I'm Yours" (written by Van McCoy), "Make Me Your Baby," and "Make Me Belong to You." She has been inactive since the '70s. ~ Christine Ohlman
