Biography of Bahamadia

Before she started beatboxing next to the likes of Gang Starr's Guru and DJ Premier, Bahamadia was dropping beats and delivering her own funkadelic rhyming skills at local house parties throughout the mid-'80s. She perfected her underground urban sound with jazz-influenced backdrops as the '90s progressed, releasing the single "Total Wreck" in 1994. Her debut Kollage followed two years later. Also a mother of two, Bahamadia is a radio host in her native Philadelphia, but in 2000 she bounced back into music to release the BB Queen EP. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
