American Idol’s “Best of the Rest” aired last night, and although there were some decent performances, the show may have very well been called the "Best of the Worst". From beatboxing twins to a near strip tease, this show did not fail to entertain.
When Simon called Luke Reeder’s rendition of “Faith” – the Limp Bizkit version none the less- scary, I think he nailed it right on the head…
Victor Villigas did not fail to bring out the animal in his audition.
Tiffany McCambell-
This Hallelujah singing choir girl thinks her ability is a gift from God. Sometimes Paula’s facial expressions convey more than Simon’s words ever could ….
Brandy Gregorie auditioned with a short strip tease and her version of L-O-V-E, just in time for Valentine’s day…
Chris and Cory Lane
This was my favorite, hands down. These twins and their mutual girlfriend were amazing, and not necessarily in a good way. This one can only be explained by watching.
And now for their girlfriend’s audition. Ladies and gents, may I present Ashley Lawing and her puppy, Panda!

That would be the name of the Journey song that appears to be permanently lodged in the iTunes Top 100. And why not. It kills.
I used to hate Journey, back when this song was a hit and I was an Angry Young Man.
What the hell was I thinking? And who am I kidding? It's STILL a hit.
Steve Perry is a genius. Who else sings like that? Has sung like that? Ever?
He's not touring with band when they go on the road these days. Rumors flying in the Rock Dude Insider Rumor Mill say that he still gets paid his 1/5 of the take from the tour anyway. As he should.
Rolled into nuTsie land this morning and popped in ye old ear buds. I really wanted to hear the new single "Good To Sea" from that vibration in San Diego, Pinback.
Well of course the nuTsie gods knew I had to hear it, so they blessed me, by it playing first from the "New Indie Alt Rock" playlist that features all new indie and alternative rock.
As you listen, here are a few tracks to keep an ear open for:
Iron & Wine, "Boy With A Coin"
Pinback, "Good to Sea"
Band of Horses, "Is There A Ghost"
Iron & Wine, "The General Specific"
The National, "Fake Empire"
The Thrill, "This Year"
Band of Horses, "Cigarettes, Wedding Bands"
We Are Wolves, "Magique"
