The Melodeo team is partially comprised of members from Tegic Communications. Tegic developed the T9 text-entry software in addition to the AOL and ICQ instant messaging software for mobile phones. Both development efforts demanded we work closely with more than 50 OEMs from around the world. That software had to perform flawlessly on a wide variety of handsets and proprietary operating systems and they've been a resounding success. The T9 software is now embedded on more than a billion handsets, making it the largest deployment of any application, mobile or PC-based, worldwide.
